Jewelry Inspired by Incredible Women

We tell stories through jewelry. Inspiring stories of incredible women.

The Process

All of our products are proudly designed and crafted in New York City. Libby designs and metal-smiths prototypes for each piece in her studio in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. She then works with other NYC artisans to craft each additional piece.

The Environment and Community

We're just getting started, but we've got big plans. So far we're working on getting all of the Sterling Silver from 100% recycled sources. Already, the packaging for each piece is made from 100% post-consumer recycled products. We'd like to get to a point where all of our inputs are recycled material, and all of our energy comes from renewable resources... We're not quite there yet, but yes, it's on the top of our agenda.

All of the labor that goes into our products is based right here in New York. As much as possible, we purchase all of our supplies from local merchants.

As we grow, we'll be partnering with community organizations at every chance we get.

The Why

Jewelry is different than the rest of what we use to decorate our bodies. Unlike clothing, we don't need it to stay warm. Unlike shoes, we don't need it to protect our feet.

For most of us, we wear jewelry not only because we like it, but also because it has some kind of meaning. We were given a gift by someone who cares about us, or we purchased it from a place that has a significance we want to remember. Perhaps we pass it down through our families, or we give it to ourselves as a sign of our own capabilities.

It was the desire to share in these gifts of meaning that lead me to launch Libby B.K. and design jewelry based on the stories of incredible women. I hope that as these pieces move through peoples’ lives, their stories and courage will move with them. I hope they will be a means for sharing and celebrating life’s journeys, and for giving and receiving strength and inspiration.

I hope you like what I've got so far. This is just the beginning.
