Liberte Coin Locket
The Liberte Coin Locket is part of the Libby B.K. collection inspired by journalist and adventurer, Nellie Bly. In 1889 Nellie Bly circumnavigated the globe in 72 days, beating the fictional character from Jules Verne's Around the World In 80 Days just 16 years after its publication. Each of the pieces in this line are based on the types of objects we imagine Nellie encountered during her travels.
France was one of Bly's first stops on her journey. The top half of each Liberte Coin Locket is an actual French coin from the days when France had its own currency. The image on the face of each coin is a female embodiment of liberty, symbolism that is perfect for Bly's trailblazing adventures.
Gold plated bronze with bronze coin. The back half of the locket is designed to be able to hold a small photograph.
